DataBeyond Technology has officially unveiled China's first self-developed "AI + Hyperspectral Material-Color Integrated Flake Sorter" at CHINAPLAS 2026, drawing significant industry attention.



The launch of this innovative product marks a new era for flake sorters—transitioning from traditional "3D material machines" and "fixed multi-channel machines" to the "256-band Hyperspectral Flake Sorter" era, providing robust technical support for the quality assurance of recycled plastic flakes.

Designed for high-purity recycled material applications, the DataBeyond AI + Hyperspectral Flake Sorter features comprehensive performance upgrades:

 

● Unlike traditional 3-band "3D flake sorters," this device is equipped with DataBeyond’s self-developed 256-band hyperspectral sensor, capturing significantly richer material data. It can simultaneously identify nearly 100 types of plastics, including PP, PE, PC, PVC, PMMA, ABS, PS, and PET. Users can perform "Positive Sorting" (selecting up to 10 target materials simultaneously to simplify workflows and reduce equipment footprint) or "Negative Sorting" (rejecting unwanted impurities).

 

● Supports plastic flakes as small as >2mm, meeting the demands for refined sorting and purification of fine materials.

 

● Departing from traditional fixed multi-channel designs, this equipment features an integrated full-width chute, which offers higher throughput. More importantly, the full-width design allows for flexible channel partitioning. Users can freely define re-sorting zones based on production ratios, supporting multiple re-sorting stages and adapting flexibly to various production scenarios.

 

● Multi-Sensor Fusion: Supports the integration of AI (Visual), SPEC (Hyperspectral), FLUO (Fluorescence), and METAL sensors to effectively remove off-color flakes, fluorescent/aged flakes, metals, and other impurities.

 

● High Capacity: Throughput ranges from 3 to 6 tons per hour, making it suitable for the diverse production needs of small, medium, and large-scale flake washing plants.

 

 

This equipment is ideally suited for PET flake purification, mixed household plastic sorting, and fluorescent/aged flake removal, helping enterprises improve plastic quality while reducing costs and increasing efficiency.
